With Dave and his family being long time members of the Charlottesville community, Dave and Mark sat down one day to try to figure out how they could pool their skill sets and do their part to help make Charlottesville and central Virginia as great as it could be. Thus, DRDS was born.

After keeping their heads down and working tirelessly, DRDS turned 1 year old and the team wanted to think of a way to celebrate. Having a giant pool party was all well and good, but the partners really wanted to figure out a way to give back to the community. With that thought in mind, the Dave Rocco's Driving School Scholarship was founded.

The Charlottesville community is an incredible melting pot of communities, backgrounds, and interests. Unfortunately with any sprawling community, there are some groups that are not as fortunate as others. Dave has heard countless stories from families who only have one parent working multiple jobs and without someone in the household who can drive, often times kids are left with not choice but to miss out on sports and social events because they have no way to get there. In addition, after COVID changed the whole world, employment status has changed for many individuals and now they have to travel for work. Without a license their only choices are to risk going to jail for driving without a license, or being away from home even longer because they have to rely on the timing of public transportation.

This is where Dave and Mark felt like they could help.

The DRDS Scholarship Fund has been established with the sole purpose of offering driving lessons to our Virginian residents who couldn't afford them otherwise. In a world full of budget cuts and cramped finances, schools who have offered free lessons in the past are frequently having to stop offering the service, creating an ever inflating market for the lessons required to earn a Virginia State Driving License. 

Once a quarter the DRDS team will announce the opening for their submission process, and allow students from all backgrounds to request consideration for the free lessons. Once the submissions are in, the entire DRDS team will sit down and select as many qualified students to receive the benefits as the fund will allow. AND THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!

If you are willing and able, we would LOVE and appreciate your donations. Every single penny is helpful, and will go directly towards covering all of the expenses that a student would owe for their lessons. This leaves the selected students with completely free driving lessons, and helps offer Charlottesville with one more well trained and educated driver on our roads.
