- This step is done through the DMV
- If you fail 3 times, you have to take an 8 hour class
- We are the only school in the state that offers our Permit Practice Course
+ Be Proactive! Study hard! Or let us help you study!!!
(Teens are required to hold their permit for a minimum of 9 months before they can test for their license)
- Every teen needs to drive for 45 hours with a parent or guardian
- 15 hours or more of these hours need to be done after dark
- Worried about losing track? Keep a log of your teens hours to know how far along in the process you are.
- Need help getting started?
Book some private lessons to get these hours off to a safe start and avoid your new driver learning in your family car, and let your teen start off being taught road skills by a professional!
- Many schools offer this for free, but scheduling issues and content absorption can be difficult. Take our certified online course to have the ease of taking the course from home.
- In person sessions comprise of 36 hours of instruction, in the online version, this instruction is condensed into an easy to follow 30 hour course.
- The course is available via a link sent immediately after registering for the sessions.
- The course is broken up into modules, so feel free to take as little or as much instruction as you want in each sitting.
- If you take the sessions with us, we are allowed to get you on the schedule for behind the wheel after completing approx. 50% of the sessions. (If you use a different school for classroom than you do for behind the wheel, you have to complete the entire 30 hour course.)
- At the end of the 30 hours, email Dave to schedule the in person knowledge test that you will take on one of our safe and certified computers in our classroom space.
(For all in-person sessions/tests, you need to email Dave directly for scheduling at [email protected])
Having trouble with registration or logging in? Please review our FAQ video posted on any of our course pages.
- Starting in 2022, ALL teens are required to complete the parent/teen course WITH their parent.
- This is only a 90 minute course and can also be found on our website
- If you prefer an in-person option, check online for potential availability
(If you can't find time to take this with your teen, you are allowed to sign a waiver of completion which needs to be submitted to us.)
- There is no rush to complete this course. You can begin taking it at any time, it just needs to be finished before they take their final behind the wheel session.
- The last step in the process is completing sessions with us behind the wheel.
- We have DMV certified vehicles that each student gets to drive. These are equipped with multiple additional safety features like additional mirrors, and an instructor brake for emergencies.
- This portion consists of 14 sessions that last 50 minutes.
- These sessions are half observing sessions, and half driving. We teach these sessions 2 at a time, so each student will do 1 observation session and 1 driving session at each meeting.
- Each session is different so the student gets experience driving in each possible driving situation. We practice in parking lots, city roads, country roads, highways, and various other conditions.
- On the final day of sessions, we are certified to test each student. If they pass, we can issue them their license (TDL 180) on the spot!
No hassle of going to the DMV and waiting in lines, or having to take the test with a stranger in a family car!
(For all in-person sessions/tests, you need to email Dave directly for scheduling at [email protected])
